Shadows of our Ancestors
Shadows of our Ancestors is an exciting new project for
2011 with the aim of highlighting the international significance of
Scotland’s five World Heritage Sites and leading to five separate events

Ugandan visual Artist,
Sheila Nakitende of @rtpunch studio contacted
me after reading my Humblyband blog. Inspired by the simplicity,
environmental and economical advantages of the project and motivated by the poor
state of the maritime culture in her own country, we began discussions
surrounding a possible exchange of ideas and practice with regard to boat
building. We quickly recognised that the potential legacy of such a project in
Uganda was enormous (read more)

Defending The Past - August Feature, Hi - Arts
I was invited by The Royal Commission on the Ancient and
Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) in 2009 to research, develop
and lead a series of creative workshops for the schools that border
Cape Wrath Military Training Centre, as part of a project run by RCAHMS
entitled Defending the Past.
This project,
which received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Defence
Estates (who manage the military estate), aimed to increase access,
understanding and enjoyment of the built heritage contained within the
Training Centre and build a stronger relationship between the community
and the military. (read more)
